Day 2

I'm so happy right now. Why? Because I'm relaxing in a VERY comfortable King size bed in a nice comfy hotel room in a safe area. Waaaayy better than last night's hotel. Yay! (Thanks Daniel) My stop for tonight is Lincoln, Nebraska. The part of Nebraska I've driven through so far has a lot of farmland. Today, I drove through Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, and part of Nebraska. I was so happy to leave Illinois. What a boring state. I hated driving through St. Louis, MO more than I can express. It was raining cats and dogs, and traffic was crazy. I literally have knots in my neck and shoulders from driving through that city and through Kansas City. I never wish to drive through either of those cities ever again. St. Louis was just as bad as Atlanta. Kind of. As soon as I got into Missouri today, it was cold and windy outside everywhere I went. I didn't expect colder weather until, I don't know, Nebraska. haha!

I thought to myself today.....Who drives across the U.S. by themselves? Who in the world thinks that is a good idea? I don't like it. It's soooo exhausting. How do truck drivers do their jobs? LOL. After these past two days, I have decided I am going to rally for someone to fly out to Oregon at the end of my internship, and ride back home with me. If you don't live where I live, I will drop you off. Just something for all of you lovely folks to think about. 4 days with yours truly! haha.

License plate I saw today said: ANTEKUN
What do you think its supposed to say? I came up with two different ideas. 1. Its a different way to say and spell Annakin Skywalker. or 2. It's a very country way of saying Antiqueing (sp?). Hmmm...what a fun game. Let me know if you have any ideas.

Oh yeah, I wanted to tell you, I got to see several sports stadiums on my drive. I saw where the St. Louis Cardinals play (took all I had not to stop for Daniel), where the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs play, and I'm right down the street from where the University of Nebraska (Cornhuskers) play. I didn't stop at any of these stadiums, but you can bet when I go through Boise on Sunday, I will be stopping to catch a glimpse of that blue field! Headed to sleep! Sorry if my blog was scatter-brained, that's what happens when you drive all day I guess.

  1. I totally understand. You're bringing back memories of driving through Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Georgia. I loved tracking the cranes, but the driving (also the cities and the crappy hotels) was awful.

I hope the last legs of the trip feel much faster. at least you won't have to drive through st. louis again!
