Last day of work/Lab Beach Bonfire

FRIDAY, AUGUST 10, 2012

I'm going to lead the posts from now on with the date since I'm so behind on all of my updates. Today was the last day I did a Corm count, last day I did any data entry work, and I turned in all of my gear when I got to the lab in Newport. It was weird turning in everything. It was weird for all of it to be coming to an end. I think I almost always stayed stressed out the entire time I worked for Cheryl. I will tell you why. She is soooo detailed and awesome at what she does, I wanted to be awesome for her. She is so intelligent, and has a better work ethic than I do, which I didn't think was possible. <---I don't ever toot my own horn unless I feel its okay, and I do take pride in my work ethic. Anywho, it was over, and I didn't want it to be. After getting all last minute stuff turned in, I hung out with my coworkers while Cheryl ran last minute errands. We had all planned on a lab beach bonfire that evening to celebrate the end of our field season.

We went to a beautiful spot at Agate Beach, took pictures, talked and laughed, ate smores, and played Frisbee. I was soo dreading playing Frisbee with everyone, because I have NEVER been good at sports. I tried soccer and softball when I was younger, but I've never been naturally good at that stuff. So, I did surprise myself when I was able to throw and catch without looking too stupid. Ha! It was a blast! I had an amazing summer working with these people, and I had an amazing time just BEING in Oregon. I wear a hoodie ALL SUMMER LONG! Now that's the kind of summer I want. I will say this, I love Oregon, I love the PNW (Pacific Northwest), and I would move there in a heartbeat. What a great and fun place to be. Enjoy these photos.....

So we tried doing funny pictures, and decided to try and do a jumping picture. Here is all of us getting ready to jump.
Almost all of us made it up in time. We never got a picture with all of us up in the air.
