Analyzing Video...

We have a camera set up to record the rock from 5 am till 10 p.m. Twice a week we go and change out the CF cards for the camera so we can export the video. Once the video is exported, we have to analyze it. It takes 2-4 hours to watch 10 hours of footage. It takes even longer if you constantly pause it because you can't tell what you are seeing. We have to analyze the video to check for disturbances. Trouble is, my camera is even further away from the rock than I am when I'm out there in person. So, it's extremely hard to see if that speck of a bird is an eagle, gull, pelican, or whatever. I'm already a month behind on the video. It literally puts me to sleep when I watch it. It's the most boring video footage I've ever had to watch. Well, it was only a matter of time before this job showed something that isn't fun to me. The video is it! Man its no fun, but I have to do it.

I found out there are cranberry bogs just south of here. Yay! Cranberries are yummy...mostly. Cranberry sauce is gross. ha. So, I keep getting told by the Fish and Wildlife guys about this restaurant that's 20 something miles south of here called, The Crazy Norwegian. Apparently they have the best fish and chips there. I've also been told you can't get anything bad there, everything is good. They keep asking me if I've gone. Seriously. I'm not going to go to a restaurant by myself. That's just sad for a girl to be eating alone at a restaurant. And what if the "Crazy Norwegian" got loose...haha just kidding. But, really. I'm saving that trip for when Daniel comes out here. Then, I will tell you if the rumors are true. But, isn't that a fun name? Crazy Norwegian...hilarious.

It's been raining all day here. Usually when it rains here, its a light rain. I haven't heard thunder or seen lightning since I've been to Bandon. But, today, it actually rained harder than normal. Still nothing like rain in the south. Just sayin...love that thunder.

This weekend on my days off, I still had to do reproduction plots from the days when I was sick. Suckage! The only thing I look forward to regarding my days off is sleeping past 5 am. I know, I know....poor baby. So, I finally started to get eye fatigue last week, and I did promise you guys a picture of what we do to help out with that.  Here ya go....
