Climbing rocks at Gregory Point

Today I went out to Gregory Point with Bill. Bill is a biologist with the Fish and Wildlife Refuge here at Bandon Marsh NWR where I live. I climbed down a steep trail on a rock, helped him lower our raft, then we paddled over to Chiefs Island. We then climbed up another steep trail on that rock. We then changed out all of his cameras that he has set up for observations. While there I also did a Cormorant count. I saw my first Pacific Loon while on top of the rock. It was beautiful there, just beautiful. I was just so excited to be on top of an island so tall. heh heh, doesn't take much to make me happy. So, during the time we were out there, I took tons of pictures. Tomorrow I get to go to Crook Point south of Bandon. Apparently its crazy beautiful there too. Can't wait. And there I apparently will be doing REAL rock climbing. That is if the tide isn't too high. Wish me luck, I've never rock climbed before, and I'm nervous as I have a slight fear of heights. So, for now, enjoy these pictures I took from today.

Oh there's me again...Freckles out in full force!

It's a COMU and Cormorant colony. If you look at the Murre to the right of the picture before the gull, you will see its chick too.
They used to have buildings out here.

 More of the unsafe bridge

I like how all of these rocks have a wood look to them.
Black-tailed deer tracks, and well my tracks.
Here's why the bridge is unsafe!!
