Friday, we had a lab meeting. The paper we discussed this meeting was about oceanography. I've never known anything about oceanography. We didn't have classes for that at Troy. So, this discussion was actually an oceanography class for me. Rob drew stuff out on a dry erase board for us. I was so enthralled I asked so many questions, and was that girl. Yeah, that girl who participates in the discussion, maybe a little too much. I think the other girls were like, STOP ASKING QUESTIONS! haha. But, it was sooo educational and informative. It makes me want to be back in school so bad I can't stand it. I yearn for knowledge in my field. I feel like there is so much for me yet to learn. I need a rich benefactor to pay for my grad school. LOL. Alright, back to the real world. After our meeting, Cheryl and I went over to her boyfriends lab. Cheryl is my boss. Her boyfriend's name is Mo, short for Morgan, and they are the coolest couple. They are both grad students at OSU. Mo is doing his Master's thesis on something to do with dungeness crab and rock sole (a flatfish). So, he has one tons of baby crabs in individual cups in huge water tanks. We got to feed the baby crabs, krill. I got to feed baby crabs!!! WHAT??? How do I get so lucky to do such fun and amazing things? I decided to stay at Cheryl's because I didn't want to drive 3 hours home. We had a delicious dinner, then the next morning I had blueberry pancakes. FRESHLY PICKED BLUEBERRIES!! I've always loved the flavor of blueberries, but have issues with their texture. I feel like all of the blueberries I see are always mushy. I hate mushy fruit. Hence, the reason I like banana flavor, but not an actual banana on its own. too mushy. I know, I'm entirely way too picky for my own good. But, this past weekend, I had the best and firmest blueberries ever offered to me. I hate them like I hadn't been fed. Yum! It was a nice relaxing weekend. Just what I needed after such a busy week. Btw, I've already had 14 chicks fledged from my rock. Yeah, its an exciting time on my rock. I will try to do better with my posts, but it was so crazy this past week, it was the last thing on my mind. Love to you all!
