Voodoo in Portland

So, its Saturday (June 30), and its early...I, unfortunately, can't bring myself to sleep in late due to the fact that I am now, a forced early bird. It's not by choice, and it's not pleasant. Those that know me well, know that I'm not my normal bubbly self when I wake up before I want to. LOL. I'm destined to be a night owl! haha.
Anywho, I had the great idea of having breakfast at this famous donut place called, Voodoo Donuts. They are crazy famous in Oregon. I've read about it in books, seen it on tv shows, and now I want to go myself. We get there, and there are so many crazy donut options...Daniel and I had no idea what to order. All of them? haha...just kidding. We decided on 4 of them. They have some interesting names too. I can't tell you the name of mine because I don't want to offend anyone, but it had oreos and peanut butter on top. OMG! BEST DONUT EVER!!! Not kidding. Daniel got one called, Captain My Captain. It had a vanilla frosting on it with Captain Crunch cereal on top. I didn't like it. Captain Crunch without a donut isn't good. Why would I want it to ruin my donut? lol. He thought it was good, I think. The other two were a powdered sugar and another name I cannot say in fear of offending anyone. But, it has butterfinger candy bar bits on top. We never made it to this one. You will see why once you see the size of our first donuts. We went into sugar comas. WORTH IT! haha. So, I will say this, if anyone ever makes it to Portland, Oregon, GO TO VOODOO DONUTS! It will be worth the trip. After breakfast, we drove to Tillamook, toured the Tillamook Dairy, ate cheese, bought cheese, ate lunch, drove to Newport. In Newport, we went by my lab to pick up some of my field gear and Daniel got to see my lab, then we went to the Rogue Beer Brewery. Daniel was HAPPY! We missed the tours for that day, but we did eat dinner there, and enjoyed some of their beers. Again, Daniel was HAPPY! After a yummy dinner, we drove home to Bandon. It was such a LONG day, but a great one! Enjoy these pics....
