Monday-Wednesday

So, Monday-Tuesday (July 2-3), I had to work, so Daniel came to work with me. Monday, he got to see how I do my repro plots and predator watches together at the same time. He even got to help me a bit. He did get to see some seals, but I couldn't find the Puffins for him. There is only one pair breeding in our area, and they are sometimes hard to find, especially because they nest in burrows on the rocks. So, after work, he helped me with my camera stuff. I told him before he came that getting to my camera is a bit ridiculous, well once he saw, he knew I wasn't kidding. Next time I'm there, and there aren't guests staying in the property our camera is on, I will take pictures so that you guys can have an idea of what I'm talking about. Anyways, we went and had lunch at a local seafood cafe here in Bandon called, Tony's Crab Shack. Their food is delicious! I had fish tacos (the fish was cod), and they are awesome! Daniel had a crab sandwich, which was good, but he was jealous of my tacos. I took Daniel down to the beach, and we walked around during high tide. This is when he got to see the seals! Yay! They were all Harbor Seals, but that's mainly what we see on Bandon's beach anyway. Tuesday, we worked again, and he saw how long and tedious my predator watches can be. There just aren't any disturbances going on with my rock. Which in a way is good, but it makes for watching for something that isn't happening long. After work, we decided to go see the Spider Man movie. Loved it!
Wednesday, I took the day off because it was Daniel's last day here. We went to Coos Bay, walked around the town, went to the farmers market and bought yummy raspberries and strawberries, ate some yummy seafood at a place called, Shark Bites Cafe. Coos Bay doesn't have a ton to offer, but it has more than Bandon. I dropped Daniel off at the airport around 630 or so. Needless to say I wasn't happy. It was a great trip, and I'm so glad he came. It was just what the doctor ordered. The rest of this week was uneventful, truly.

This upcoming week, I have to share my room with someone I don't know because we will have a full house of people staying here. Annoyed!!! But, I'm just too nice to say no. I kind of felt obligated to say yes since they are being so nice to let me stay here. I just like my privacy. I don't like sharing bedrooms with strangers, even if they are a girl. lol. Wish me luck this week. I'm gonna need it. Maybe even wish me patience.

 Tony's Crab Shack
Daniel on the beach....hey my rock is in the background!
This metal loop thing was on a rock on the beach...weird

 Seals!
This is zoomed in on my camera, but these are Harbor Seals
Daniel with the seals in the background
There is a black buoy in this picture....wonder if its another Japan tsunami buoy.
Not sure if you guys will remember, but I took pictures of a driftwood fort on the beach, well people tore it down, and tried to build another one...this is whats left.
I tried to do this same pose, but was too short to reach the log...sigh..
 This is Cat and Kittens
So, this is Face Rock. Can you see the face? It's a profile on the right side of the rock. Native American legend believe it was a princess that was cursed into stone from the sea spirits....or something like that..
 More awesome beach views
