Data stuff, and a BBQ!

Today I did a whole lotta data entry for DJ. It was actually cool because it allowed us to really look at the data, and see what the owls are doing, where they are doing, and whatnot. I did have to make, yet another bow net. These things are never ending. And yes I'm complaining! You would too after making 16 of them, and you're still not done, but hey, at this point, I'm almost an expert. Around dinner time, we went to a colleague's house for a BBQ with him and his wife. They live right next door to a state park. And when I say right next door, literally their backyard is part of it, and down the road from their house is the other part. It's a sight where Lewis and Clark discovered, and apparently they ate lunch at the springs in their backyard! Yea...this is cool stuff. I totally totally dig the Lewis and Clark stuff. It's just crazy interesting. And to get to see where they were, what they discovered so long ago. Come on people, history is cool! So, we saw Hat Rock and Ship Rock. Literally these rocks look like what they are named. Especially Hat Rock. It's bizarre and cool. I was kicking myself the whole time because I didn't bring my camera. I didn't know they'd have such treasures right there! Seriously. We had some good grub, I got to love on their kitty Nips, and their dog Junebug, yes my kitty and puppy fix! After dinner, we went and hiked up to Ship Rock (not very far or high), like I said, it's in their backyard. It was a nice, brisk hike. Totally perfect. The weather was great, and when we reached the top, it was awesome. Again, kicking myself for not having my camera. I did my best to take pictures with my phone, but man, it doesn't do it justice. I'm hoping Max will email me the pics he took of us at the top so I can share it with you.
Oh btw, Jeff left today, and Max leaves tomorrow morning. Max is going to Norway for 3 weeks....what? Jealous! Anyways, tonight a professor from Boise State joins us for a few days. A professor I have emailed before when I had applied to Boise. He remembered my name, and where I went to school, and where I live. Wow..okay. Now, why don't you guys tell me a way to convince him to take me on as a student without being obvious, rude, over zealous, etc. I'm open to suggestions!

Here are some crappy phone pics for ya!

Junebug joining us at the top of Ship Rock (it's higher than it looks)...Isn't she cute??

See the cool formation of this rock?

  1. Be subtle, since he remembered your name and school, you're already doing well, if it is meant to be, he will remember you when it is time. Call me!
