Last 2 days with the Burrowing Owls

So, I've decided for the last two days I spent working with Burrowing Owls, that I would just show you what we did in pictures. It was the same ol' song and dance, except for the fact that we also caught a Great-Horned Owl on Saturday night, which most of you already know. It was a fantastic, wonderful experience that I am so grateful for. I will forever be thankful to David Johnson, better known as DJ, the owl guy. haha. Now, here you go:)

So, I found a full snake skin shed, complete, which is rare apparently. I was supposed to keep it, but yeah, um no. :)
Our group taking pics of DJ
One of my favorite burrows, not sure why.
We got some great close shots of the Pronghorn (antelope)
Look at this face! Oh my goodness!
Banding the Great-Horned owl
He looks so spooked poor guy.

This picture is so funny to me because I have the goofiest looking grin on my face. Why you ask? Because I just got asked to hold the owl's legs while they take a sample from him. I was excited.
Covering the owl's face so it stays calm
 Yay! Happy!
 Still happy!
I'm getting handed the owl....nervous is an understatement. This owl was intimidating!
 The hand off
Making sure he's secure and comfortable
The money shot! lol...what a great owl!
 A different view

The pair we caught on my last night. The male is on the right, he is actually smaller than the female, but he puffed up as a defense mechanism...I'm holding the female on the left.
What in the world is this face? It was a crazy time.
We were all so excited and wanted to help.
 We all look so serious.
 More seriousness
At this point, I looked over at DJ and said this, "I can't believe this is happening, this is the coolest thing ever!" haha...I was so excited.
